Conversations a week, each

A conversation runs about 8 minutes — short enough to do on a bus, which is why it happens more than once a week. The situation you write decides the length, not you and not us.

What a week like this pays you

$608a month

15 students × 10 conversations a week at 8 minutes, over 4 weeks, with the smallest discount you may give, net of card fees (in the EU, VAT comes off first). Give a deeper one and this figure comes down while your students pay less. First sessions are free and nobody is paid for them, so they are not counted here.

Grey is ours: the voice, the marking and the servers. Dark green is yours, paid once a month. Pale green is what your students never pay.

The last two slices are both yours: 10% to your students is the least you may give them, the whole 40% is the most, and you move the line in your own dashboard. Out of the grey, up to 10% pays whoever introduced you — it never comes out of yours.

Two minutes to set up the first conversation for your class

Describe the situation in a paragraph. We build the person on the other side: their job, how hard they push, the first thing they say. Your class opens a link and talks — no account, nothing to install. Every minute they speak pays you.

Your side and ours

A marketplace takes a cut of your lesson. We pay you for the minutes you did not teach.

Preply and italki take 18–33% of the lesson you taught. We take nothing from your hour: it stays yours, at your price. What we split is the practice that runs while you sleep, and we split it — 40% to your side, 60% to ours. Yours is yours to divide again: keep it, or hand some of it to your students as a discount nobody else can match.

Nothing to sell

You write one paragraph about the situation. The face, the name, the first line and the criteria the student is marked on come from us.

No extra hours

Your students speak on a Sunday morning if they want to. You are not in the call, and there is nothing in your diary to move.

A real card, not a mockup. Yours will look like this

Paid once a month

Counted by the second, not by the lesson. Once a payout has gone out we never go back and recount it.

They go back for more

The same conversation three times in a week is what changes an answer. Your students repeat it, and every repeat is more minutes for you.
